Our partners at WPRI in Providence, Rhode Island were able to get a positive result for a local woman who was stuck at home because she was sold a power chair she couldn’t use. When the chair had initially been delivered to her home, the woman told the person who delivered it that it wasn’t the right chair, and that it was too high for her to be able to sit in and use. She was instead encouraged to try it, and she had issues, nearly falling out of the chair when operating it on a sidewalk. She called the company for months, but was never sent a replacement and always had her repair appointments get canceled. Finally, she reached out to WPRI’s Call 12 For Action, and the vendor sent a technician to her apartment. The first attempt to repair it was not sufficient, but the technician returned later in the day and made the necessary repairs.
