Our partners at IndyStar Call For Action have have had great success helping their community resolve complaints related to home improvement projects. IndyStar’s Call For Action consumer helpline has resolved more than 150 home improvement complaint cases, saving consumers more than $150,000. In one instance, they negotiated much needed repairs for a consumer who had purchased a new home with significant construction problems. In another case, volunteers obtained a re-sodding of a dead yard after the company that initially provided landscaping services was proven to have over-fertilized and harmed the yard. IndyStar’s Call For Action Volunteers also resolved three separate complaints regarding the same contractor, obtaining refunds for three homeowners who had hired the company for jobs it then failed to complete.
