Our partners at WJLA in Washington, DC report on a successful intervention by their 7 on Your Side Call For Action team.  A Lanham, Maryland resident discovered after a snowfall in March that a local snow plow had struck his son’s car, which was parked on the street in front of his house.  He contacted the county, who referred him to the contractor that it hired to plow the county’s streets.  The plow operator’s insurer denied that the damage was caused by their vehicle and denied any claim for damages.  The county’s insurer also denied the claim, instead referring the residents back to the plow operator.  The plow operator refused to budge for months, during which the resident’s son continued using his damaged car, which was eventually stopped by police due to the broken tail light.  At that point, the residents contacted 7 on Your Side Call For Action.  A volunteer was able to reach the county, who finally got the contractor to cover the damage, now 5 months after the initial accident.
